Hello, my dad has passed, I am trying to clean out my parents property in Louisiana, and my dad was a railroad collector. we started out collecting small gauge stuff, 45 years ago. so we have alot of small gauge stuff, track, etc from that. then he later started collecting fullsize track, etc also. I'm estimating around 10 piles of track.
Theres 3 plymouth switch engines, that I think are from a sugarcane plantation, and lots of other stuff.
I have no idea on prices for this stuff. I will try to put some pictures up this afternoon of some of it.
Theres at least 3 fairmount speeders, and one is set up for small gauge, but he told me that it just needed an axle change to be fullsize, and he had the axles for doing that.
I like railroad stuff, but Don't have the property to put any of it on, so we need to sell it out so we can get my mom moved. Thanks

Can you tell us what is the distance of the space between the rails (the track gauge)?
Hopefully you can upload a few photos to add to your post. This information will help any potential buyers.
Thanks!

yes I will get alot more info when I'm back down there in two weeks. I forgot to measure the track gauge when I was down there. I can't remember that stuff off the top of my head like my dad could!
having trouble with putting pics up. might have to try smaller pics. I'll keep trying.

This is one stack of rail. theres larger, and smaller rail in stacks in different places, this is the only one I have at the moment. I need to locate and determine the size of each stack next time I go down. We also have some rail, in 20ish foot sections, still attached to the ties, on someone elses property that my dad bought.
This rail is 4" tall, and 30 ft long. not sure how many in this stack, but alot!

The two machine tools are actually a shaper and a radial arm drill press.

Next time you visit, please photograph a ruler along the end of the rail, to show the highth and also the width of the base... this will allow us to check the size/weight of the rail... different people want different sizes.

Thanks for posting!

Nick
