Hello all, just passing this along.

Country Village in Bothell, WA is clsoing April 1st, 2019. This is a themed shopping center, which is finally giving way to progress and about a hundred new townhomes, as has every property around it. On the property are three antique railroad cars. My understanding is that these will be listed
and auctioned off by Murphy Auctions (based in Kenmore, WA). I will post more information on the auction as I learn more.

The rolling stock: Wood side GN caboose, steel underframe.
The wood siding has seen better days. The black trim was installed several years ago to hide the rotted ends of the siding. the step boxes are missing. Everything else seems largely intact.

SP&S Baywindow caboose. Wood and steel construction. This car has had a doorway (possibly two) cut in one side wall. One truck is plain bearing, the other is rolling bearing.
Again, stepboxes are missing. All other gear appears to be present and intact.

GN (later BN) smoothside coach. Roller bearing. This car was formerly part of the Tukwila Andy's Diner in Tukwila, WA, before being moved to its present location. This car is remarkably intact. It seems to have possibly had a secondary roof added at some point. Inside, the baggage racks, light fixtures, seat numbers, and even the window shades are intact. However, the couplers are missing.

Again, I will try to post more information as it comes available.

That bay window caboose appears identical to 50 boxcar bay window caboose built by the Northern Pacific.

According to the Country Village Facebook page:

"Country Village will officially close the 1 st of June, 2019. Most of the shops and businesses have already closed or relocated but there are still several who are still open:Garden of Beadin’, O’Malley & Potter,
Artisan Market, Doll House Baked Goods, Art by Dennis Brown,
LuvNailz, and Syren’s Voice.

You are welcome to visit the Village throughout April and May but we ask that you not remove anything.

We will be holding two auctions and to get on our auction mail list, send your email address to Jennifer@countryvillagebothell.com .

The first auction will be held towards the end of April and will be interior items such as restaurant equipment and store fixtures.
The second auction will be held the first part of May and will include windmills, cabooses, yard art, plants, play equipment, memorabilia and more.

As a family, we have thoroughly enjoyed creating and operating Country Village for thirty eight years.
And a huge thank you to all our loyal customers!"

Thanks for the follow up on this, I wish I was able to buy that coach, it's a nice looking one. A friend went and looked at it and it's a nice car. He did say it's missing the coupler boxes as well as the couplers

Just a heads up, the auction is open. It closes on May 16. The railroad cars are on page 3 of the auction listings.

The ex-GN caboose X549 sold for $6,200 to the City of Tenino, WA, which has moved it to be displayed at their Tenino Depot Museum. More info in a June 21 Daily Chronicle Article here:
