I didn't see any open spaces Saturday--plus this engine was being worked on in the shop area. There was one wooden caboose behind an engine, but removing it wouldn't allow anything larger than a small tenderless switcher in its place.

Excellent news!

Who got the N&W water tender? Hopefully not scrappers.

I believe that there are more than 18 steam locomotives for the 18 stall roundhouse in the collection now, but many are short enough to share stalls. 643 would definitely do justice to being shown on AOS's 115 ft. turntable at least some of the time.

Great news. Now 22 pages of rumors, speculation, advice, whining, sniveling, bitching, can finally end.

Nope... it will be another 22 pages or more of how they are going to move it, when are they going to move it, what route will it take, and when will they restore it.........

This is the best possible news. I’m so glad to hear that over a decade of poor ownership, and a saga full of rumors of scrapping and selling has finally ended.

Awesome news! AOSR will be a great forever home for this locomotive.

Now we just need to find out what happened with Canadian Pacific #5361, and the world order will be restored. :)

Also of note (per AOT on Fakebook), offers are being accepted on the Alco and Aux. tender.

I would hope AoS got that, too. No steam collector would go to the trouble of a 2-10-4 but leave an aux tender like that in place!

Agreed, but a sale to AoS is a much better move as they have an excellent record of getting stuff moved to Ohio.
It's just such an awful shame that JJJ passed right about the time when his dream was beginning to be fulfilled.

Great news and so very glad that the doom and gloom that portrayed any chance of saving her as an impossible fantasy ended up being proven wrong.

Jerry Joe, we thank you and the heirs to your collection.

I too hope they didn't overpay but will keep my mouth shut about what that would be in excess of until it is out of there.

In AOSR’s Facebook post, the tender has already been removed from the engine. I don’t want to assume it’s much sooner rather than later.
