this museum closed in 2016, I believe. Has anyone heard anything about what happened to their mostly New Haven Railroad collection?

Did any of it go to other museums?

Actually the caboose was moved to the Fore River Transportation railroad shops in November by its new owner. It left Mass Coastal property in October.
Leaving Mass Coastal:

At Fore River:

Also the boxcar is still awaiting movement to the Cape.

P70 is still here in Fall River.....its for sale btw!

NH 42 the Firestone arrived in Lenox at Berkshire Scenic back in mid-October.

The former Pawtucket yard building and some signal parts were acquired by the Railroad Museum of New England. The yard building is currently displayed at Thomaston CT. Signal parts are being used on signals which are currently being prepared for display also at Thomaston, near the passenger station.

New Haven Boxcar #33401 was finally moved yesterday to the Cape Cod Chapter NRHS in West Barnstable, MA.

I believe the only piece of equipment still remaining on the site is the PRR P-70B Passenger Car.

NS 3322 -

Just noticed that the end number in the photo of the New Haven boxcar seems to show 23401 rather than 33401. Can't read the road number on the side from the particular camera angle. Do we know which number is correct?

It was apparently a decal error. It should be 33401.

That's a three its just not all there....numbers were painted on but apparently that section chipped off. It looks like a decal because of the dark paint around the reporting mark which was a touch up I believe. It didn't look this bad years ago.

The power just came off a freight that would've terminated near where the boxcar was stored (Only for the night, it previously came up from a Fall River the day before). Because the power was there already they used those engines and didn't bother separating them. Would've been a waste of time to do so just to put them back together the next morning.
