are you talking about air pressure, water pressure or steam pressure? I have a place near me in CA that does repairs. I found it almost easier to find replacements on eBay.

What company would some actual steam operator, like Union Pacific or Strasburg, have calibrate their steam pressure gauges? I'm sure that the FRA regs spell out how they have to qualify them before use.

You're not going to find an era appropriate calibrated steam gauge on ebay....

Along those lines... 20 years ago I bought two Crosby steam gauge testers. I hooked one up to a big steam pressure gauge and got it to operate the gauge. It had a tool to pull needles off their stems to enable repostioning them.

Sold them both on ebay, for BIG money. So, someone out there has the means to test gauges... but would they themselves have to be qualified by some agency to "qualify" your gauge?

We calibrate them in house, and can do the same for other's gauges, as long as the movement isn't damaged and prevents accurate setting. I have seen several that have damage to the gear teeth, and that gets too much into watch making for our fat fingers.

Thank you for your responses. He has some old gauges and I believe he needs them rebuilt from the inside out. New springs, glass, etc. he's working on restoring an old steam boat.
