The same storm that let a jet make a record-setting trans-Atlantic flight also pounded the UK heavily, including the Keighley & Worth Valley:

Unfortunately that isn't the first time that the shed and yard at Haworth have flooded over the years. Some places yesterday had a "normal" month and a half of rain in the space of one day, though, so far, I haven't seen any other reports of other preserved lines being affected to that extent. Certainly lots of problems on the main rail network though (trees down, flooding, o/h wires down, debris ending up on the tracks etc..).
93mph was the strongest gust of wind recorded round here yesterday, apart from some heavy rain, though we got a lot less precipitation than places further north and west.
Strong winds due to continue thru to Tuesday afternoon.

I've been seeing some photos of heavy water on the Cob along the Ffestiniog too. Seems like a nasty storm.

And on the other side of the planet, the great irony of Australia: devastating fires last week, this week we're having floods and landslips..

Seeing the overhead lights are still on, not sure I'd stand in that water?

The Weshpool & Llanfair narrow gauge line had a fairly close call last weekend during the passage of yet another storm...

There's another one due to hit the west & north of the UK today, with the threat of a months rain in the space of a day.
