I'm skimming through all the tiny 0-4-0Ts I can find; my first thought upon seeing the picture was that it was one of the 20" gauge 0-4-0Ts that were abandoned in Clifton, Arizona--but it's not a match there, and Last Frontier promoted itself as a Nevada-centric collection, so.....

The locomotive is now living in California and is known as the "Ann Marie"

After the Lost Frontier village shutdown the railroad equipment went to the Last Strike Casino that was once located on the road between Boulder City and Hoover Dam. After the casino had a fire the railroad equipment went different ways. This 30" gauge Porter was sold to an individual in the Hayward, California, area. It was restored to operation and the gauge was changed to 36". It has often visited the railroad operation at Ardenwood Regional Park.

If you're wondering where the other equipment went to here is a partial list.

The 3' gauge 2-8-0 and the three narrow gauge passenger car bodies were once on the Eureka-Nevada RR and are now at the Southern Nevada State RR Museum. The locomotive was originally built for the Florence & Cripple Creek and then later used by the Uintah before coming to the E-N. One of the passenger cars was original to the E&P and the other two were second hand to the E-N; orig ally on the Colusa & Lake in California.

The 3' gauge, 2-truck Shay locomotive that came out of Pioche, Nevada, was sold to an individual and after a couple of sales reported moved to Washington state. Originally built for Santa Barbara Tie & Pole Co. #1, Hodges, NM in 1909.

A wooden boxcar was acquired by the SPCRR group prior to the shut down of the casino. The boxcar was built by Carter Brothers in 1874 and later on the Nevada Central

I saw the equipment at the Gold Strike casino several times. Also very familiar with the Nevada railroads, etc. Also I know which book or website to go to for information.

Here is a link to a write up about the 1996 fire I mentioned. The railroad equipment was across the parking lots or even across the old highway US 93 from the buildings that burned.

I can confirm all your information and add that the Pinch Pacific Shay locomotive is now at Tuolumne, California owned by the West Side Railroad Preservation Society. Sadly none of the several real surviving locomotives from the Lumber Company are available to this new group.

I have several postcards from the Last Frontier Casino in Las Vegas and the Gold Spike Casio in in Boulder City. I wish I had one of the Shay locomotive.

People need to act as correspondents and provide updates to Steam Locomotive Information.

The initial purchaser from Gold Strike wanted the shay, but had to take the two remaining ng cars that were with it up on the hill across the old highway from the casino. One was a strange car that might have been built on a passenger car under frame.

The other was a former Nevada Central box car body built by Barney & Smith in the 1870s. It should have been saved. But the story I heard was that the buyer could not fit it on his trailer or truck and so cut it in half.

Brian, You need to check the NOTES on STEAM Loco Info. Often the ownership has not been updated. The Shay is at Kipert’s Korner Feed owned Craig Kinnaman This is in Tumwater not Olympia.

I'm still getting used to the current format of Steam Locomotive Info. I do know to look at the notes section because it was provide more up-to-date information than the ownership list.

I did use the Shay list. But some reason chose to only provide a general comment about the direction the locomotive moved.

After all, the original inquiry was about the 0-4-0T.

Somewhat related, we now have a Plymouth locomotive that at one time was at the Old Vegas amusement park. If you recall, Dan Markoff’s Eureka 4-4-0 resided at Old Vegas for a period of time as well.

Anyone out there have any information on how the Plymouth ended up at Old Vegas? Where it came from originally? Jerry Jerrems bought it from the defunct Old Vegas, but was sold off some time after his death in 2006.

We would like to track down its original Plymouth number, but really need a place to start when it comes to the Plymouth listing of locomotive numbers.

Have attached a couple of photos highlighting the rather unique cab design which we understand may have been done at Old Vegas.

Appreciate any help, ideas, suggestions, hunches.

The individual who led the aforementioned West Side preservation group is based in Washington, hence the Shay going there. He also has Davenport c/n 1177 (ex-Longview Sugar), formerly owned by Richard May and operated at Ward Kimball's place.

To the best of my knowledge, the revival effort in Tuolumne was disbanded well over a decade ago, with very little left on the mill property since the Me-Wuk accelerated redevelopment. The West Side company office building, once nominated for the National Register, was the most recent casualty— demolished a year ago this month. Derelict trackage and paved-over crossings make it unlikely anything will ever run there again.

Bob Lehmuth produced "very comprehensive compilations of US and Canadian locomotive builders" including Plymouth, and was monetizing them on ebay. I know several members of this board have copies, and are likely not posting them out of deference to him. However he passed away last year, and so any obligation not to post the lists went with him.
