I am looking for a single walkover seat for a project I am working on. I do not have any particular preference right now to style or time period but I would prefer one that is cushioned (vs wood seat bottom/back). It needs to be in good mechanical condition. I'd like to find something in or close to California to keep freight costs down.
Thanks

The Society for the Preservation of Carter Railroad Resources (SPCRR.org) in Fremont California has patterns to make a Buntin walk over seat frame. These were recently used to cast seat frames for one of the two Cumbres & Toltec coach restorations. The cost for the castings is about $270.

Strasburg offers a reproduction of a Hale & Kilburn #73 walkover seat. https://www.strasburgrailroad.com/mecha ... tion-part/

Not sure if these are the vintage you are interested in, but some are listed as having cushions (although no base) - Price is reported as "make offer" location: Ohio

Thanks Randy and SteelGrinder for those leads. I'll try and get a hold of Strasburg and see how much they're asking for a reproduction seat. I actually found the ones at Orrville a while back and have been discussing shipping options with them. Pallet or crate shipping from Ohio to California will not be cheap but if it's in the budget, I'll probably go that route.

I talked with my friends down at our local museum, Railtown 1897, to see if they have any leads that are a little closer.
