If you would like to experience the Budd cars on BC Rail,don't wait too long. There is no money to rebuild the cars and they are being retired as they fail. Three cars (really just hulks) are up for sale through BC Rail's asset disposal department. Service is being cut back and hot meals are no longer being served on the Cariboo Prospector run. The end will likely come sometime in the fall of 2002. West Coast Railway Assn. is offering some charters over the line. Thier annual "tour of the line" run this year will likely be the last ever.
