A large number of historic photos have been added to the Old Alabama Rails website. Old Alabama Rails is a proposal to turn the crumbled remains of the former Western Railway of Alabama car and engine shops at Montgomery, Alabama into a riverfront tourist/shopping/eating attraction with a historical bent. Long, long term plans include replicating the missing roundhouse and turntable as well. A somewhat long shot proposal (headed by an Episcopal priest who is from Montgomery but presently lives in Minnesota), the project has received relatively positive press.
