The Oklahoma Railway Museum in Oklahoma City is currently repairing damages due to vandalism on their F9-A. Any information on possible sources or available parts would be appreciated. We are looking for the following lenses:
Item(s) 1: Two clear classification lenses. The original lenses were offset center freznel lenses about 5-1/2" in diameter. A part number could be helpful in this case in addition to any other information. Item 2: We have a part number for this item but no sources yet. A Pyle-National (Gyralite) 20542-PRL red glass lense that fits over a PAR-56 headlight bulb in the Gyralite.

Call RSI (Rail Systems Inc., the EMD-authorized distributor to short lines and industrial railroads-- and Museums!) at 800-808-7245. You want EMD part number 8101548, which is listed at $29.11 each. It's the real thing! Fits GP-7s and -9s, too.

The part number 8101548 is for the number board glass. The glass measures 10-7/8" x 30-1/2" x 5/32".

I am looking for the class light bezels that fit above the number boards the front of the F-units. These are clear round offset freznel bezel lenses about 5.5" in diameter.

I know just the item you want, because I've ordered it from RSI before, with that part number (which I got from the EMD #90 Catalog). Either there's been a part number change, or a digit out of place. I have two of those class lamp lenses for our FL-9 locomotive, still in the RSI box; I'll take a look at the number on the packing slip again this weekend. The RSI 2001 Vol. 2, Edition 1 Price Book listing (which is just part numbers, a one-word "description" and the price) shows "8101548 29.11 [the price] LENS". Talk to Ray Sykes at RSI-- he's the resident expert on locomotives there.
