Does anyone have any leads on drawings or other information on Russell narrow gauge snowplows. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ours is looking real sorry and I'd like to see what can be done to preserve what is left. Many thanks.

The Magazine Finelines did a series of drawings on the Q&TL equipment including the snowplow in the mid 1970s. They are hard to come by now but I would suggest looking on ebay.

The Elk County Historical Society near Ridgway, Pa., got some of the extant Russell plow drawings in the late 70's. The earliest Russell plows (built prior to 1902) were farmed out for construction to the Ensign Manufacturing Co. in West Virginia. In 1902 Russell relocated their headquarters from Boston to Ridgway, Pa., and remained in business until about the 1960s. Ray Buhrmaster of the Mid-Continent Railway Museum in Wisconsin was able to copy many of the Russell builder's photos in the late 70s when they were stored in a chicken coop in the 70's in Ridgway.
