 Post subject: Pyle National dynamo overhaul

We are refurbishing various components on a an engine displayed outside and are looking for maintanence instructions and advice on a model E-2 pyle dynamo, this would be with future operation in mind but would probly envolve reinstallation on the engine and nonoperation for quite some time.<br>

Let me give it a go. On the steam end the weights for the governor rust away and the generator will over speed. On the electoral end check your brushes to see if they seat right and are not too short. I was on one steam trip in 1970 the generator was over speeding and burned out the head light bulb do to too high of a voltage. We come up with a 110-volt headlight bulb. There was a gas power generator for the cars and we used it to light the headlight with the 110-volt bulb. I do not know what that bulb come from as steam used 32 volt and diesels use 74 volt. It may have come from a Reading or PRR MU car.<br>
