 Post subject: Army hospital car
PostPosted: Sat Jan 22, 2000 12:49 pm

I have a heavyweight car I belive is a Pullman. The only thing left of the car is the body. It is laid out as a hospital ward car. At the start of WW2 Pullman converted some dinners to ward cars. When they were converted they were given steam heat. This car has coal bins and stoves, air conditioner, and a clerestory roof. The body is marked "United States Army" but it does not have medical car markings. Instead it is marked "Transportation Corps",car number 509. I have checked with the Transportation Corps museum and ran into a dead end since there cars had 4 digits for car numbers.I would be greatful for any ideas or help on this.BMe1062114*aol.com<br>
