The July 2003 issue of Railpace pictures two former NS/N&W slugs, formerly N&W/VGN (or possibly Wabash) Fairbanks-Morse H24-66 TrainMasters. The photo shows the slugs en route to RMDI in Pittston, Pa. The photo caption casually suggests that the frames and trucks *could* be made into a credible display unit, given a lot of sheet metal work.

I have been in contact with representatives of RMDI on other business, and they are now aware of the units' heritage. In addition (just to be totally preposterous), the representative knows of the existence of several available FM prime movers in their "spare parts" junk storage (in another state).

I'm not personally advocating such a project (reminder: CP TrainMaster 8905 is preserved in Canada), but JUST IN CASE, is there ANYONE out there with 1) the ambition to attempt to rebuild a FM TrainMaster; 2) failing that, anyone needing the FM trimount three-motor trucks; and/or 3) anyone in need of FM spare parts off these spare FM OP engines sitting derelict?
