Dave Owens' article was far and away the best of the three done about this issue. He is also active in the Torrington Model Railroad Club, so he brings a bit (more than a bit!) of knowledge of things railroad to his writing.

We are also careful when speaking with the media to avoid the "goofy" stuff. Historic preservation and economic (tourism) benefit are what we stress. That, and how dedicated, professional and hard-working our volunteers are.
