I posted this message on the old interchange... about a day before it was superseded. The Illinois Terminal owned a bunch of Alco RS-1 road switchers, most - or all - of which later went to Gulf Mobile & Ohio. I was wondering how many of these are still in existence. At least one has survived as Green Mountain #400, and has recently been painted in a New Haven livery by the Danbury RR Museum. Apparently another one, Green Mountain #401, is in storage at Kingston NY for the Delaware & Ulster rail line. Does anyone know about any others?

Green Mountain #401 is owned by the Catskill Mountain RR, They operate a portion of the old Ulster & Delaware That is East of the Delaware & Ulster's trackage.

IT 752 and 753 became GM&O 1052 and 1053. They were sold to GMRC 6-28-76 and renumbered 401 and 400, though there was speculation that the 1053 would become the 403 in the local railfan community. While the 1053's paint was weather worn, you could still make out the original GM&O easily as it ran a couple of shake-down runs 9/83. It was reported that as the crew prepped the 1053/400 for painting they uncovered the original IT lettering practically engraved in the metal.
