 Post subject: WMATA (Washington DC MetroRail) 1000 series

I saw on social media that WMATA (Washington DC Metro) is restoring the first pair of 1000-series MetroRail cars. These were built in the early 1970s by Rohr in Winder, Georgia foe the opening of the first segment of the MetroRail system on the Red Line. Does anyone know if this is just an in-house effort at Metro or is this for a museum?
