UPDATE:

The FB page for the Juniata & Aughwick RR (yes, there is one) announced that the RR has acquired and relocated to Mount Union the former PRR/Amtrak N5 caboose (or "cabin car" to PRR pedants) that had been in Southern New Jersey threatened with scrapping along with the Alco FA/FB shells that ultimately were scrapped.

Car in question is former Amtrak 14008, ex-PC 19023, exx-PRR 479715. Cupola had to be removed for trucking.

Quote:
When this PRR Cabin Car was at risk for getting scrapped at a quarry in Southern New Jersey, we were asked if there would be interest in saving it. Provided that no other rail organization wanted it—we would give it a home.
After enduring several challenges from being left derailed in the sand, to needing the cupola removed to get it under height, former Amtrak Caboose 14008/Pennsylvania Railroad N5C 479715 has arrived at the Juniata & Aughwick Railroad yard in Mount Union, PA.

Minor correction here. Both FA2's were saved and relocated, along with the last FB1 shell. One of the FA1 shells, ex-LIRR 614, nee' SP&S, was also relocated. former LIRR 611, also an ex-SP&S unit could not be saved. The Pennsy caboose was pulled out and retrieved, which was a major miracle. The balance was cut up as scrap.

Adirondack also got a number of parts off of the scrapped units at the eleventh hour to keep as spares for their own Alcos.
