With the help of RYPN folks I've found 57 turntables that have been moved for preservation, with five moved twice. Here are the ones where confirmation or clarification is wanted: Where did the Steamtown USA table used at the Riverside, VT site come from, how long was it, and what happened to it?

Where is the one from at the Prince George BC Railway & Forest Museum?

How long was the Rio Grande's Alamosa table, 85 or 100 feet?

How long is the Pine Creek's table from New Egypt, NJ?

Any info on the one at Ironworld USA in Chisholm, MN.

Any info on the one at the Western Minn. Steam Threshers Ass'n in Rollag, MN.

Where did the two on the Tarantula RR at the Fort Worth Stockyards and Grapevine, TX come from.

Any info on the one at the Canadian Ry Museum, Delson, Que.

Is or was there one at the National Railroad Museum, Green Bay?

Is the table at the 3' Lahaina Kaanapali & Pacific on Maui, Hawaii original to them or a rebuilt replica?

In all cases I would be interested in where the table came from by railroad name and location, its length, and what year it moved. Only tables that have been moved to another location are being sought.

I believe it was 90' long. A few years after Steamtown left, it was moved up to Burlington and sat there for some time. When I left the VTR in 1999, it was to be installed as a truck bridge over the barge canal, next to the (non-lifting)lift bridge there. I haven't been back since, so don't know if that happened. This table came from the newer roundhouse at Rutland and was owned by the Rutland RR. I believe it remained property of the State of Vermont through it all, having been acquired with the state purchase of the Rutland in the 1960s..

Ron, search through the archives at www.ngdiscussion.net. Someone posted lots of information about this table (including cost information, as I recall) not all that long ago.

The armstrong turntable from the Pemberton & Hightstown RR/Union Transportation RR at New Egypt, NJ was 55 feet long. It was removed from New Egypt in 1979 and transported to Pine Creek. This table was installed in 1909 but was secondhand having been built in 1880. John Brinckmann's book, "Pemberton & Hightstown" mentions it came from Medford, NJ which may have been from the West Jersey & Seashore.
