Nickel Plate 2-8-2 639, in a park at Bloomington, IL. Frankfort would be a good place for it.

Ex-NKP, built in late-1940s, I think. I think NS uses it for M-O-W repair now.

Just tried them myself and they did not work either. However, they can be seen if you join the NKP group and click on Files, then Steam Locomotives (for the 639) or structures (for the Bellvue roundhouse). Some worked (the ones from the Photos section), some didn't (Files section), not sure why.

Bob:

An interesting photo. Hard to tell for sure in this photo, but it looks like this is one of the NKP tenders with odd trucks (six wheel trucks in front and four wheel trucks in back.) If true and she was preserved with that tender, it might make her rather unique.

Also intersting is the locomotive behind the 639. Although I am certainly not an expert on Nickel Plate steam, it appears to be a NKP H-5 class Mikado (the 639 was a H-6 class; a USRA copy.) Sure would be nice to know where the photo was taken and when.

My understanding was that the 587 and 639 traded tenders just before donation - don't know why. The one with the 639 has the 6-wheel front truck with a 4-wheel rear truck.
