Post subject: Snug Harbor (15" gauge) RR??
PostPosted: Mon Jan 29, 2001 11:29 pm

Looking for any info on the "Snug Harbor Railroad," possibly in Oregon in the 60s or??
It was a 15" gauge line. 2-6-2 locomotive (#262), tender and caboose # 427 made their way in the 1970s or 80s to the Alton & Pacific in Humboldt County, CA, and were then sold to someone (?) in the Santa Rosa area. Is the this equipment still around?

Any help would be appreciated!

Harry

I'm updating the A&P webpage and have four photos of the Snug Harbor equipment there...

HERE's Alton & Pacific page, under reconstruction

Harry,

I've enjoyed your website on the Alton & Pacific.

Any word on what happened to Mr. Bayliss' O&K 0-4-0T and Fowler 0-6-0? Does he still own the locomotives and have them stored somewhere? steamlocomotive.com lists them still being at the Alton & Pacific, but I'm wondering if that is current.

Regards,
Jim Robinson

The Narrow Gauge Discussion Group briefly mentioned that the 0-6-0 from the Alton & Pacific which is english built, has been sent back to one of the 24" lines preserved in England or Wales. As it is a fleet mate of the Colonial Sugar engine that is now steaming at Edaville, I would like to know more.

anyone have any information from Northern California?
