While all of us are aware of Mr. Link's singular contribution to the art of night photography no one has mentioned the role he played in saving N&W J #611 for posterity.

He offered to buy it from the N&W, saying he didn't want to take it away, but he didn't want it destroyed. He lobbied everyone he could at the N&W headquarters until #611 was saved.

It is my hope that she will run again and serve as a living memorial to both Mr. Link and to Bob Claytor.

May their souls rest in peace.
