Post subject: A tale of two Wig-Wags

For our Michigan people, there is a Wig-Wag on display in Durand, MI, near Owosso. Does anybody know its origins and history?

For the Washington state people, ther is a Wig-Wag on display in Issaquah. Same question.

Thanks.

While I am in Michigan I havent been to Durand recently enough to know of the Wig-Wag there. I know there was a wig-wag located between Durand and Owosso on the Tuscola and Saginaw Bay Railway this may be the one. also there was a wigwag along the old michigan central/new york central/penn central/detroit and mackinac/lake states in sterling michigan. but rumor has it that one was "obtained" by a railfan. thats all the info I can offer.

The only thing I can offer on the Washington wigwag is that it looks to be a former Northern Pacific wigwag. They were known for using that type of relay box. Very rare to see a semaphore pinnacle on a wigwag as well. You can check out photos of that wigwag by Hume here:
