No computer hi-jinks here. Some other schemes were done as well, I can't figure out why yet.

Near as I can tell, this is the engine used in the filming of the movie (mumble, mumble)... geez, I can't remember the name. My wife rented it; thought it was going to be a serious dramatic peice, but it turned out to be more of a music vidio showcasing some Swedish or Icelandic female performer. Set in the "redneck" US but filmed entirely in Sweden, it was quite interesting to see their impression of everyday life here. If you think the GN "F" unit is bad, wait until you get to the scene with the dancing lumberjacks on a moving train of flatcars...

The diesel publication Extra 2200 South issue 120 (copyright 1999 with the notation inside "publication date:May 30, 2000") has this unit as its cover photo and a second photo inside.

The caption of the inside photo provides the following information:
Quote:
The Great Nothern lives on. In the movies anyway. Nohab built AA16 106 of Sweden's Tagab was repainted in May 1999 into GN colors for a Hollywood movie. Tagab, a small regional railroad, liked the colors so much, and no doubt the publicity they drew, they kept them after filming was completed. The 106 was built in 1956 as Danske Statsbaner 1108 and was sold to Tagab in 1999. She is powered by an EMD 16-567C engine and the design is based on the F7 modified for European conditions.
