There are two remaining examples of the class (GN P-2) remaining: 1. 2507 Wishram, Washington - under a new roof a couple of years ago after several years outside in Pasco, WA. 2. 2523 Willmar, MinnesotaGreat locomotives according to crew members. Good looking with nice lines. Likely too big for current climate. But I remain hopeful.Scott

I recall reading somewhere once that GN 2523 was among the locomotives considered for restoration by North Star Rail before they chose 261.

If it was considered it was very briefly. NP 2156, Soo 1003 and Milwaukee 261 were the three that were actively pursued.
