Just a couple of photos of Travel Town, in LA:http://abpr.railfan.net/abprphoto.cgi?january04/01-25-04/01_California_Western_56.jpghttp://abpr.railfan.net/abprphoto.cg ... 110.jpgHow are things going out there? Have they worked through some of their problems with the two volunteer groups?

I dont think it matters much. For those of us who have been there, you can tell that any restoration done on the cars will get ruined within a year. The place is ammount to a playground, hell a few years ago a visitor fell through the roof of SOuthern Pacific 12 (baggage car) - what the hell was a visitor doing on the roof in the first place!? The SPNG cars (3 of the 4, GOn 258 fell apart) got so bad they were moved into a building.

Folks,I was at Travel Town a while back and I have to say they did get the new building open at last. But it is really teerrible that almost none of the equipment has any numbers or lettering on it. Even if you have their handout, it is hard for a railfan to tell what you see. And for the casual visitors just forget learning anything! Really sad to see equipment like an 1880 San Francisco steam dummy without any numbers etc. Ted Miles
