I got as good a look as you can get with that shelter and fence surrounding her before 700/4449 showed up for the recent NRHS convention trip. Look good, from what the steam folks there with SP&S 700's crew told me, she's not a good candidate for running.

In person, this locomotive is as hard to see as in the photo. Once again, the question arises about what is the best way to preserve a steam locomotive. This shelter does preserve the engine, but prevents the public from appreciating it. And we all know what happens when a loco is "appreciated" too much... vandalism, stolen parts, and the good-old reliable label it gets, "eyesore". This particular shelter is a good job, done for a locomotive, when the rest of the town of Wishram struck me as struggling. I could be wrong on my guess, but I'm happy they identified this, and the nearby Lewis and Clark memorial marker, as worthy of preservation.

You noticed that too, huh? Yeah, I found it odd that the shelter for 2507 appears to be the best made structure in the whole town!
