Ted,

We had wonderful weather. Temps in the high 60s and the sun was out. There were about 8 people from the Museum itself showed up, plus another 2 who showed up for the first time (who may end up volunteering back at the WW&F).

We only laid 30 feet of track but we did some ballasting and surfacing. The track is now pretty level. Hopefully Carl Buitta will get in there with some more stone soon and spread it around.

The station has been primed since we were last there, and the crew is starting to work on the upstairs. The flanger has been half floored. We took the flanger out for a spin once we were done working on the track.

Hi James, Thanks for the update. Do you know what the future plans of the Albion group are? It would be great for the railroad to have a party laying track south as the Alna group moves north.

Carl Buitta's got some ambitious long range plans. He wants to finish off the station (of course) and relay the yard in its entirety, including all building (coal shed, engine house, turn table and possibly the potato house). They're also hoping to get permission to lay track onto the next piece of land and ultimately lay track to the next road, about a half of a mile away.

As the ones laying the track are the ones at the WW&F Museum every weekend, and "golden spike" ceremony will probably happen somewhere in Albion (unless, of course, their museum/display really takes off and they continue south).

Folks,

I think that it would be great to see a yard display in Albion. A turntable would really bring the place alive. Here abouts (California) two of the museums have re-constructed narrow gauge turntables and they are a hit with the public.

I gather from the Albion historical society web page that they still have the pit and center bearing to work with. TM
