I've decided to stop posting due to numerous rude and insulting "corrections" to my every post by a somewhat hostile foamer in a mid-Atlantic state. These "corrections" have been occurring ever since the Interchange was added to RyPN, a liability of the free and open nature of internet discussion groups. My time off is very limited and it is simply easier to bow out than continue. If I run across something interesting, I'll send it along to a third party for posting and save other readers from enduring my detractor's personality disorder. Likewise, if I have a question, I'll contact those that might have the answer directly and save readers from unnecessary insults from the peanut gallery.

Well, that's a real shame. I wish you would reconsider. I always enjoyed what you put up for us to see.

I agree with Ken! Just because one malcontent does not enjoy your postings doesn't mean that anyone else feels that way! I, too, have enjoyed your findings on the internet, and would enjoy seeing them again!

Please advise me of the user's ID offline and I'll take care of the issue.

One more message of encouragement. I too always appreciated your frequent posts, and would be glad to see them return.

I respectfully disagree with O-6-O's comment, becuase it puts the blame in the wrong place--on Bob, not on his abrasive inquisitor.

I agree with Bob on this one. I have largely quit posting for somewhat similar reasons. I now post if I have specific informaiton to share or if I can directly answer a question, but I no longer enjoy the general tone very much, and I find I just have other, more rewarding things to do with my scarce free time--some involving railway preservation, some not.

In my view its not letting the terrorists win, it's called having a life.

Bob and Eric,
I know I am not much of a contributor, but both of your posts were always interesting and much looked forward to by myself.

I understand your decisions, but it would be a terrible loss for the WHOLE group to let one person screw it up for the rest of us.
Repsectfully,
Bruce Pierce

Bob,
I am one of the many who miss your posts as well.

I may not post much but I do frequent these pages at least one-a-day.
When a rude or off-color post rears its ugly head I don't let it ruin an other wise good thread. Sort of like a small bruise on an otherwise perfect and tasty apple.

Best regards,

Terry

Sir,
Please reconsider and continue contributing. Have always enjoyed your postings and they usually generate interesting questions and/or responses.
You are doing good work---we need it.
Thank you for your past efforts and hopefully those in the future.
