Thanks Kelly, I always look forward to these updates.
Happy Thanksgiving and keep up the good work.

Kelly, Fantastic work. Thank you for the update and pictures. Makes sense to use the piston rod to index the crosshead. The relief valve is very nice - do you also make muffled types?

I'm a bit fuzzy on 31, but isn't that a contract project for some group in the northwest?

31 is Strasburg's first steam locomotive, a CN 0-6-0 that they have had since the late 1950s. I believe there is also a 37 on the property, a 2-8-2T which is/was a contract job. I'm not sure who the owner is, though.

Alright, so I screwed up the numbers then... But since when did 31 pick up a rear pony truck, or is that wheel under the firebox just there to move the boiler around?

To add to what "daylight" posted, that 4-wheel lead truck looks pretty unortodox too!

Andrea is a gem. The finest steam shop in the northeast! Terrific, Kelly!

Looks to me like 31 is sitting in the back of the shop in that photo. He DID say they had
put wheels in it to clear the drop table for other work. I'm betting what you are seeing
is that "other work." He did not say that it was 31 on the table.

I love reading about the great work your team does in your shop. As a retired machinist I understand what you're up against. Happy Thanksgiving to all...

Nope, 31 is in the foreground in this image.

There is a certain narrow gauge 4-4-0 in the background.

If the certain narrow gauge engine is the one I believe it is, it's actually a 2-6-0. The owner of said engine has only one 4-4-0 and I watch it run by my job everyday.

The 4-6-0 in the background is RGS #20, belonging to the Colorado Railroad Museum, and undergoing an extensive restoration to operation.

Good grief, do you people have a false wall hiding the OTHER narrow gauge engine?

Consider the fact that the railroad may be operating under the jurisdiction of a non-disclosure agreement, Mark. If they want to (or can) share information regarding any other locomotive being worked on, I'm sure we'll hear about it.
