Ernie,

So it sounds like Bridge C-9 is at least passable for non-revenue equipment moves, right? Has a structural evaluation of C-9 been done yet? Does it need anything more than a new timber deck, perhaps?

Rob,

Bridge C-9 was last rated by an engineer in 2002, where it was borderline. At a minimum, a new deck will be necessary for passenger use. Right now we are first looking at readying it for movement of our cars stored 1/2 mile west on 209, which we plan to bring back to Cornell Street soon. This should only require replacement of a few deck timbers.

We will have the bridge formally evaluated by an engineer this year, and we'll make our long-term plans once the report is in. As for non-revenue use, we believe we can move most equipment except the RS-1 over the bridge with minimal work. You should see some photos of the non-revenue moves in the next few months.
