Coal tower likely slated for demolition

Yes, I believe that the cost of repair of the tower, or even stabilizing it would quickly exceed the resources of the HVRY. It was located next to a public road so a failure may well have brought parts of it down onto passing automobiles.

The steam locomotive isn't going anywhere. The coal tower did and we will _never_ get it back. Honestly I would have rather seen the coal tower restored.

This is Railway PRESERVATION News, not Steam Locomotive Preservation News. There is more to railways than steam locomotives. A lot of people forget that.

So are there any dilapidated remains of wooden coaling stations around? or the foundations of such towers?
