For the background (an amazing story) see here:

http://www.internationalsteam.co.uk/trains/para02.htm

"Casado: The Manning Wardle lives. It's next steaming is on 31 August.

I also found 9 other locos there, in various states of decay, including a (Chain Driven) Schwartzkopff 0-4 + 4-0. More on those later when I have time to do a full report.

This must be the remotest railway in the world. You need to go on a 24 hour boat ride to get there and that is just from Concepcion, which is
8 hours by bus from Asuncion.

In Concepcion I found a steam mill that milled beans. The plinthed O&K worked there.

There are other steam relics there as well."

What an amazing story, I wish I had gotten there when I was in Paraguay. Maybe next time. Thanks for sharing.

Maybe it won't work out. But maybe seeing if it does will be the best adventure ever.
