Me Too. Don't let the butt-heads bother you. I have enjoyed Bobby's posts and the dialog many of them start.

It seems every forum I visit there is always some know-it-all or nay-sayer that wants to correct (in a derogatory manner) or belittle everyone's posts. They only show their lack of social skills and what butt-heads they really are.

Vote me in! I've enjoyed seeing your posts, and wondered where you had "steamed off" to. Please don't let a few self proclaimed "experts" spoil your efforts for the rest of us! Thanks for all your excellent posts!

If I were to get upset at every person who corrected me over the years (rightly or wrongly), every bozo who criticizes my judgment or sanity because I didn't necessarily paint their favorite railroad (or other subject, from breweries to comic strips to computer software) in anything but fawning and glowing terms, every twit that called me names like "pathetic loser wannabe" and insisted that whole forums are doing the same elsewhere, called me to task for not including their favorite bar/church/brewery/bridge/etc. in a book or article, or--just to be current--insisted my head is up my posterior because "everybody knows" that you can just roll those "Lost Roanoke" engines to the VMT "but NS is conspiring against the Museum"......... well, okay, I made the last one up, but I expect it in my PM or e-mail box any hour now...........

........... then I would have to take my computer out and douse it with lye, bleach, and flammable liquids, set it afire, and become a hermit.

I can't tell Bob Yarger what to do with his life, and it's his choice. But "the masses" seem to be speaking. If you're so inclined, Mr. Yarger, then stop letting whatever b*st*rds get you down, and reappear.

Bob's posts are always interesting and pull up something from deep under the floor boards. I'll add my name to the growing list of those who appreciate your services. Eric, I will also give a second call for your efforts as well. Take a breather if you care to, but do repost whenever you are of a mind to. Your friends and colleagues miss you.

Brother Yarger,

Unfortunately I know just what you mean, and almost certainly who you mean, too. That's pretty much the reason I don't post very often. Seems like the people who don't know what they're talking about always want to argue, and the rude ones are usually way more energetic than the nice ones.

I know I've thanked you several times for your posting in this forum of the link to the English translation for the China Rail QJ locomotive operating manual, which brought many very good things to me personally in a very short time. Thanks yet again. And, if you should hear of anything else juicey like that, please send it to me by PM !!! As always, if I can ever do anything to help you get some enjoyment from the hobby, please feel free to call on me.

You're a railroad man, Bob, and you know that the professional blabbermouths and ferropsuedointellectuals are usually pretty far from the good action. Your brothers are waiting for you 24/7 in engine cabs and register rooms, at crew change points all over the world.

Take Care, and Work Safe,
Sammy

I'll add my 2¢ as well. I particularly enjoy some of the more esoteric photographs you've dredged up - wonderful eye candy, IMHO.

Please reconsider.

If the Mid-Atlantic location is a valid clue, please feel comforted in that I quit reading anything he posted a couple of years back. Opinionated know-it-alls are not worth the time.

Thanks for responding so that we know what happened. At least you're not in a ditch somewhere and it sounds like you are actually enjoying life!

Yea, I debated posting that at all because it's just dragging out the same childish squabbling of which most of us are tired. There's another reason, too, and that is that you never want to encourage a stalker. Of course this guy has sent me another private message, which I don't want to recieve. It's like trying to get a booger off your finger, I swear.

And, no, I'm not in a ditch somewhere. Bordello, maybe, but not a ditch. Enjoying life too, thank you very much, and wishing you all the same. Happy 2008 !!!!

You know, Mr. Yarger, I still for the life of me can't figure out how you found all that stuff you did. I enjoyed your posts and hope for their return.
