Yes. We pulled them out to get the weight down. They will go back in next year after we've had achance to clean and paint the engine compartments.

BTW each genset weighs 5,500 lbs. Carbody 71,000 lbs. and each truck weighs 23,000 lbs. I love cranes with load cells!

It was running when it was parked for the last time in 2008, but as you can plainly see it hasn't had much care over the past several years. The bottom of the cab sides need some patches, the hoods need work and several of the doors straightened and new hinges. Both Cummins engines run, but I don't know how worn out they are. Air compressors are fairly new, but the main reservoirs may have to be condemned due to thinning behind the straps. There are the remains of the sister engine still over at EEC, and I have asked for permission to strip parts from it that we may need for this engine.

The moving bill came in the mail today:

80 ton crane $2,140.00
Crane permits $350.00
tractor trailers (3 loads) $2,570
Hauling permits $175.00

Total to move a GE 70 tonner five miles in three truckloads, including loading and unloading: $5,235.00

Good deal?

Normal for a short haul. Longer hauls require two separate crane companies, hence two bills, and the hauler gets more.

Later!
