You know that wacko proposal I made for running a LIRR/"PRR" G5 all over the place?

That, my friends, came STRAIGHT from the British rail preservation "playbook."

And don't trot out the entire "but they'll let anything run on the main lines" excuse. It is often cheaper for the British to move full-sized main line steamers with road trailers from place to place than it is to ship them via rail. Mind you, we're talking the equivalent of Philadelphia to Strasburg or Chicago to Union or Scranton to Albany, not Portland, Oregon to Michigan............

Wanna dream? Think about an EBT Mikado in Colorado or Michigan, or a D&RGW K-36 on the EBT or Pine Creek Railroad, or..........
