Original restoration of 765, a hammer was at the bottom of the boiler.

St Joe Valley RR club had to move to new quarters, ripped out the old layout saving pieces wherever possible put in storage, found space in the old Mishawaka NYC freight house for a layout. Cleaning and fixing it has a few other stories, but up on top of some supporting rafters were blank freight tickets still stuck in the sticky multi pad, pre-dated for 18__. The freight house was built in 1888 if I recall right.

All those years in Savannah and not one dildo found - apart from one large one walking around on 2 legs. I'd have almost expected to find some there. And, come to think of it, a wrench at the bottom of a boiler barrel from IRCA. Tons of Jersey Central ticket stubs in an old Bethlehem Battleship commuter car.

My father worked as a conductor for the Northern Pacific, and while working a local known as the Enumclaw Local, he made a very cool find. This was along the original NP mainline to Tacoma. They were tearing down the station at South Prairie, and he "poked around" a bit. In a wall, he found the original station sign, reading, South Prairie, Washington Territory.

On our car 57 1887 Pullman, so far we have a glass medicine vile, a Prince Albert tobacco tin, and some 1920's kids clothes and womens underwear !!! 1931 and 1936 Denver Post newspapers.

Wow, what a find! I hope your father took the sign and that he gave it to a museum. Or at least that the sign is still in the family. I know we'd mount it in our depot along with the other station signs we have.
