I believe that the Ohio Central has the capability of steam heating coaches, whether they do or not I'm not sure of - their season usually ends before the really cold weather starts.

When the Cuyahoga Valley Line first started in the mid '70's, GTW 4070 furnished steam heat to the string of regionally aquired heavyweight coaches that Midwest Chapter supplied. Oh, to think of what we have lost!

In early Amtrak days we went to Pittsburgh on the legendary AMTK 31 on a snowy day. We stopped somewhere on the Middle Division (Penn Central was still around) and I have a shot of the entire train wrapped in steam from all the leaks.

I recalled an old slogan: some roads ran steam through the train; others ran the train through the steam. ;-)
