Responding to Tim's posting, most of the local people between the ages of 40 and 65 who saw the train with the F-units probably thought "Those look a lot like the locomotives I saw when I was a kid".

Thanks for the compliment. Your engine looked great and the "Grey Ghost" of the Tri-State NRHS Chapter was a special treat in my eyes!

With the Rivanna Chapter's PRR Caboose, Tri State's F3 and the Reading F's that were initially restored by the Philly & Lancaster Chapters, I think we were able to show what the NRHS can do. Coupled with our own efforts at the L&WV chapter, I think we made a very positive impact on the general public during our "show and tell" before the convention!

Steam runs, and therefore chasers, are a commonplace occurrence around Owosso, home of Project 1225. As such, the state troopers know the drill very well, and are out in force to bust the speeding, reckless or filming-while-driving chasers.

...which, minus a few that go overboard, works very well, I must admit. Surprised other groups haven't done the same. Basically, what they do is eliminate the opportunity for pacing a 35mph train on a 55mph road--which is the primary cause of the insane driving by everybody else trying to get around this one person that has a half-mile long string of cars and truckers behind them.
