Quick update.. Work continues on the rear of the tender and running boards as well as prparations for repairs to the front end. We are hoping to have a painting party next weekend and finish the rear of the tender and the top of the boiler jacketting.

Keep 6069 in good enough shape so when CNR management comes to its senses someday, they can run her through the shops with little regret.

Mini update:
Last week we had a geat visit by one of the Engineers on 6060. He was really pleased to see her in person and meet some of our crew and view the excellent work being undertaken. Some great tips and advice were shared and we even got to see a clip of 6060 strutting her stuff as well!
Project update...
The final coat of CN green has been applied onto the rear of the tender tank and it looks really sharp. Replacement signs for the rear numberplate and specs for the weight etc have ben ordered and should be installed soon.

Are there any other survivors from this series of Canadian National 4-8-2's besides the 6060 and 6069?

6077 in Capreol. There is also 6043 (U-1-d) in Winnipeg, 6015 (U-1-a) in Jasper and 6039 (U-1-c) at steamtown.

We are looking for Locomotive light parts and spares especially for the headlight and tender headlight but anything is of interest. If you have any parts that might help please contact me.

Sign company completed the installation of the Locomotive number and spec information on the tender. The rear numberplate was also installed. Looks much different now!!

Small update,
The smokebox was opened up and slag and ash etc was finally removed. Metal condition inside was overall very good. Ash grates were reset and are now completely closed. Not sure how or why a 2 ffot long staybolt type bolt was jamed in the one side of the grates causing them to jam??
