Jim, constant blow lines are tapped in at about 1" to 2" below the normal water level of the boiler. The scale will flake off & fall down to the mud ring far below the level of the surface blow line. Also this line is throttled down & not run full out. We are just trying to lower / even out the TDS, not getting rid of chunks of scale.
