Based on a telephone conversation I had today with a docent of the Manheim, PA Historical Society, the group's Conestoga Traction Birney car escaped flood damage. Manheim, according to TV news, suffered the worst flooding of all towns in Lancaster County. Undaunted, the broad gauge Birney was carrying passengers last weekend. Unfotunately, there are no plans to extend the line as the town will not permit tracks to cross a nearby intersection.
