Below is Mr. Nigel Anthony Hewer Day’s graph with the AT&SF data superimposed on it. I am particularly interested to know which locomotive Mr. Day graphed here.

I am also curious about the statement that Lempors were originally designed for velocities 1.1 times the speed of sound. Given that the speed of sound is not a constant how would you account for the various speeds one could encounter?
