It just showed up on RailSwap with contacts to IRM. Looks nice, but it's too wide for our railroad (WW&F.)

Wouldn't that be a nice addition for EBT...sure, its not anywhere near historic to the EBT, but it would work.

Per postings on the IRMList yahoo group, the Lake City has arrived at IRM, and is "in the house on track 31", which would tend to indicate it has been placed back on rail.

A few pictures of the car arriving, on the IRM blog at : http://www2.irm.org/blogs/archives/1264 ... -2012.html

What a great car to be saved. I would think running it, except on special occasions, would be out of the question considering how pristine the interior is.

Jeff,
Your signature line with the flickering GG1 images is going to give someone an epileptic seizure or else drive someone batty.

When it actually happens, then I'll consider changing it.

I've enjoyed the GG-1 thing and thought it was pretty clever but I do have to agree it's getting a little old considering the amount of space they take in a thread where you've posted multiple times and the distraction level of the animation. It's a bit much for a permanent sig.

Firefox users can disable GIF animation or have it cycle just once.

1. In the Location Bar type about:config and hit Enter
2. Type "anim" in the Filter field (to quickly find the needed preference)
3. Double-click the image.animation_mode line and edit it to one of the following:

none — will prevent image animation
once — will let the image animate once
normal (default) — will allow it to play over and over

I missed the original post. This is awesome news. Any idea where they plan to keep it?

As of last night, it was put away in barn 3, and I would expect that it will be kept somewhere near there for the concievable future.
