It's true that the Forrest is close to the line. We do everything in our power to keep trees off the line.

The incident mentioned was resolved in a few days and the only damage was to one carrage. This was slight and soon repaired. No one was hurt. We do not want to see any one hurt. The whole of that bank was later cleared of trees. In the former life the track was cleared some 20 meters or more from the track.

It's true about the bigger picture of Tasmainian tourism and its not just about the railway but the whole state. Yes the support is good locally but it has to be backed up at government and high business levels for it to work.
