As does the NN 93.

All the the D&RGW home-built K-37 class 2-8-2s had superheater plates on the right side of the smoke box.

I checked the U.S. Patent Office's search engine and the last patent on the plate in the drawing I posted, 1891898, was granted on Dec 27, 1932. It was for improvements to the method of making return bends. It is the only number on the plate from our 1944 locomotive.

The next older, 1863068, was for a multi poppet valve throttle and issued June 14, 1932. Since our locomotive doesn't have a multi-poppet valve throttle, this suggest in 1941, Elesco may have included all patents still in force on their patent plates, whether or not they applied to the locomotive the plate was affixed to.

It is also interesting that the drawing Kelly posted shows short stand offs on the back of the plate, while the one I posted uses a flat back.
