In general, no, it will not run. IRM trolley wire is ~600VDC. AEM7 wants AC of any of a few flavors.

[Insert here by reference previous fantasy suggestions of stuffing trolley car doodads inside as was proposed for the GG1, OR, in the case of AC traction versions, shooting 600V DC in at the DC link level along with an inverter to power auxiliaries.]
