As joking is not allowed today....I'll speak only full truths.....!

RYPN can be and HAS been in the past just as bad or worse than TO.....

The Trolls run rampant on RYPN just as they do on TO.....

In the past few months and maybe even the past year, RYPN has become what it used to be....a place of civility and genuine discussion. Items one and two still apply.....

In today's world, we need places like RYPN as many people... many people, get a large portion of their social interaction thanks to RYPN......

In reflection of the events of our planet today.....we all need to show more love and kindness and appreciation for each other, regardless of how we see situations.... if nothing else, maybe our world today is teaching us to be more kind to each other.

Happy April 1st....another day....and with some hope and faith....maybe a day closer to getting better.... That is my prayer anyway.....

(My sister was born on April 1st....it has never been a joke to me...)

Love,

JohnE.

On April 1, 2020 the Strasburg Railroad has suspended passenger operations, dropped the fires on their steam locomotives, found success as a transload logistics provider, and is actively seeking leads to repair medical devices.

This turn of events would have been beyond the pale of even the most imaginative posts on a prior April 1.

Some tropes of past April 1 have also been realized: The East Broad Top has also been sold, the UPRR has restored a Big Boy which visited much of its network, and CSX has provided enthusiastic support in moving two steam locomotives.

And, where armchair preservationists were once the scapegoat of some on this forum, staying in one's armchair at home is exactly what is needed to preserve one's self.

Happy April Fools everyone! I hope we all live to see April 1, 2021.

This might be of interest to those of you that host Steampunk events.

On April 1, London rare book seller Maggs Bros. Ltd announced their launch of "Calligraphic Bar Code Services". They also created the slogan CBCS: bringing computing into the 15th Century©. Their announcement was made in this twitter post which included a link to this PDF announcement.

One of those CBCS codes would look cool on a paper Steampunk ticket, IMHO.
