On the commuter train yesterday (Friday) about 1/3 of the pax were not wearing masks. The crew were but they did not enforce the mask requirement on the pax.

Even the commercial airlines themselves are now asking the Biden Administration rescind the mask mandate.

Hold on !!! Dr. Fauci tonight is warning that the new BA 2 variant is beginning to spread rapidly in the states and until we know for certain what severity of disease it produces we need to stay super vigilant.

He said that early data seems to indicate that it evades the current vaccines in most people and may require and newly engineered vaccine to combat it.

He said we'll know more soon.

Never ends. Ross Rowland

New York City just announced certain exemptions to their vaccination rules for celebrities. actors, athletes, etc. Reason stated in article was that they "bring money" into the city.

The vaccination waiver applies mostly to allow unvaccinated players from the Brooklyn Nets (NBA) and NY Yankees (MLB-AL), in particular, to play. Of course, Celebrities and other Important People are waived also. Ordinary shlubs still need vaccinated.

No soup for you!

On a more serious note: Latest reports say we’re heading out of pandemic and into endemic; Vaccines will still help keep you out of the hospital though recommendations may come for a fourth jab this spring for those immune compromised; A big spike with BA.2 is not currently expected. All things can change, though. Just waitin’ on what the CDC and TSA come up with.

I've wondered what'll happen if we get a highly lethal pandemic (like what is scarily and realistically shown in the prophetic 2011 movie, "Contagion"), after all this.
There are of course countless people who've chosen their own realities, chose to look on the internet to back up what they wanted to be the case (the opposite of the scientific method but sadly too common anyway), and declared it's all a scam.
I'm quite convinced that when something really lethal comes along, you'll see people doing the same, and countless people will die who decided the rules of nature don't apply to them. Happened lots of times in the 1918-19 flu pandemic as well. But the internet has legitimized folks who wear tinfoil hats.
We all should be so much smarter than those folks at the end of WW1, which makes what happened sadder.

I have no trouble accepting everything you posted is accurate.
Really.
